From hands‑on firefighting activities and cultural fire knowledge to virtual reality simulations, the 2025 Bushfire Community Day brought thousands together for a powerful, family‑friendly day of preparedness. Local brigades, emergency services and community groups united to share practical skills, inspiring stories and life‑saving tools, showing just how quickly and confidently residents can get ready for bushfire season.

The Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards acknowledge the important role employers and self-employed volunteers play in the delivery of emergency services across Western Australia, where more than 95 percent of emergency services personnel are volunteers.
